DDR: Ensuring high-speed recovery of data

Many people while purchasing a new computer or laptop would be anxious about DDR memory. With the arrival of different types of memory, there are mostly confused due to the improper idea of what this memory does. So let’s have some basic idea. Talking about DDR memory, it is a Double Data Rate. It is a revolutionary memory technology which is based on the SDRAM principle. DDR SDRAM is faster than SDRAM as data is transferred on both edges of the clock. It is known for transferring data as fast as up to 2133MB/s. It requires low power than the traditional SDRAM or other conventional memory. Its operational Vcc is 2.5Vcc in comparison to 3.3Vdc for SDRAM.  Which DDR you should go for will depend upon the liking and your laptop. As DDR, DDR2, DDR3 memory is easily available in the market so selection of right DDR memory is not difficult to enhance the overall performance of your laptop.
DDR memory can be found as registered or unbuffered. They do not have address and control line buffering and are less expensive than buffered counterparts. The unbuffered DDR are placed on motherboard and can be extended in the range of 1GB-4GB. DDR2 memory is said to be the second generation memory.  400MHz is the lowest speed for DDR2 memory. As soon as its speed reaches to high level, it shows its efficiency. Lastly, DDR3 is the third generation in the DDR memory family and its speed level begins with 800Mbps and goes to 2 billion data transfer per second.
